2010-01-09 18:37:04Take A Look Of Our ClubDo you want to know where the pilots have been all this time? Well, take a look and follow us to know our Club, Club de Planeadores de Vitacura. 2010-01-09 18:26:22Some Quotes…The first and the second place are thrilled to be in the podium today. Sebastian said: “I´m sad…” (what!!? … but he follows)… “I´m sad because this was such a great Championship, and now it´s over. I loved flying here and the people were great, but now it comes to an end. The Andes is a place to discover”. Carlos is also happy, “this is a great achievement for us, for the Club, for Chile. We are second in the world and it´s the best feeling. We used our experience to fly this Competition”. 2010-01-09 17:23:09#3 Super Mario Kiessling (GER) In Ventus 2ax (DE)After a few very bad days for Mario were he slipped from the podium places, Super Mario made it back in great style, finishing 2nd in todays race. That, and the fact that Uli Schwenk "only" made 4th place today, gave Mario a 1 point advantage over his fellow countryman, making it to the third place in this 3rd FAI Grand Prix Final. Congratulations Super Mario!!! 2010-01-09 17:17:32#2 Carlos Rocca (CHI) in Ventus 2b QVCarlos raced conservatively today. After having raced the Chilean National Championship and now placing 2nd in the GP, he is preparing his gear to go next week to Argentina to race at the South American Championship in Argentina. With still 8 points to catch Sebastian, but 11 points away from his follower Uli Schwenk (GER), 2nd place in this 3rd FAI Grand Prix was a sure thing for him. Congratulations Carlos!!! 2010-01-09 17:10:35#1 SEBASTIAN KAWA (POL) in DIANA 2 RPAfter a fast and furious race, like we predicted, we have our third FAI Grand Prix Champion: Sebastian Kawa from Poland, after completing todays task again in first place. Congratulations Sebastian!!! 2010-01-09 12:55:41The Fast And The FuriousAfter a webpage blackout (error 500, caches emptied and restarted for those technically inclined, which I am not) we are back on line and the task and meteo has been published. The 270 k racing task will follow known ridgelines, but from the meteo info, you can see there is little wind today. 85km north to TP Copin, then to Central TP and all the way south to TP Pirque and back to the airfield. With positions 1 and 2 with little chance to slip out of Kawa's (POL) and Rocca's (CHI), the gamble is for 3rd place, fought by three great pilots. In a few short hours, we will have a new Grand Prix World Champion. All the best to the pilots! 2010-01-09 12:43:50One Chilean In The AirWell, by this time we are sure you know all the pilots in competition. Carlos Rocca is one of the Chilean pilots in this Final Championship. He started many years ago, following the example of his father, also a pilot. “It´s a privilege for us compete with the best pilots of the world. They do have more hours than us but we have the local knowledge”. 2010-01-09 10:39:52Feedback ReceivedThanks for all the feedback we got (and will get!). I would specially thank Tomasz Kawa for his comments. He has been a loyal (and also critic) follower of our page since the very beginning. Here is what he had to say: 2010-01-08 20:02:05Feedback24% of our 80.000 viewers are Germans, 20 % Polish and on a smaller scale, Czechs, Americans and Englishman. With the GP slowly coming to an end, we would like to have your feedback! If GP racing is to become a popular form of gliding sport and a popular action sport, it will have to compete against the best: soccer, x-games, you name it. How do we improve? With your sincere feedback! Write to the contact email from the FAI or in our webpages contact form. We would really appreciate it. |
